NAC is the acetylated form of the amino acid cysteine, and cysteine is the rate-limiting building block the body uses to make glutathione - which is why NAC and glutathione formulas so often sit side by side. Milk thistle has the longest traditional association with liver support of any Western herb, and its seed contains the silymarin complex. Turmeric and green tea contribute curcuminoids and catechins respectively.
